CHANCE VOUGHT AU-1 CORSAIR Credit: Richard Marmo collection A beautiful in-flight shot of a production AU-1, s/n 129320. Note the bomb/rocket racks under the wing as well as the unusual anti-glare panel that comprises the entire upper forward fuselage and cowling. While the rest of the aircraft is glossy sea blue, the anti-glare color is unknown. Though flat black can be quickly ruled out, there appears to be too much differential for the anti-glare to be non-specular (flat) sea blue. Flat intermediate blue, as well as flat blue gray would have to be considered as possibilities. Date of this photo can be no earlier than January 1952.
