This Photo Gallery focuses on the F-4 and F-5 photo recon versions of the P-38G/.H and P-38J/L Lightning, operating with the 28th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron in the Central Pacific during 1944 and 1945. Containing 56 black-and-white and 4 color photos, taken by those who were there, under combat conditions for the most part, they offer a unique window for modelbuilders.  Though photo quality varies...to the extreme in some cases...they have been enhanced to the extent possible and are fully captioned.  Since the parts layout of the recent 1/48th scale P-38F/G and P-38H suggest a future F-4 or F-5 kit...and a currently available F-5E from Academy...the photos offer many ideas for vignettes or dioramas for these unarmed photo birds .
